Food Security: Sokoya Calls For Renewed Commitment to Government's Vision
The newly deployed
Permanent Secretary for the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development, Mrs. Funke Sokoya has charged the Management Staff of the Ministry to re-dedicate themselves to discharging their duties towards achieving the Kwara State Government's vision on food security in the State.
Mrs.Sokoya who said this during her maiden meeting with the Management Staff of the Ministry appreciated the warm reception accorded her and enjoined the Staff to embrace team work, respect for each other and cordial relationship for the betterment and overall interest of the Ministry.
She pledged to ensure fairness, equity and justice in her dealings with individuals or groups in order to achieve the mandate of Ministry within the stipulated period.
Speaking on behalf of the other Management Staff, the State Project Coordinator, FADAMA NG-CARES, Engr. (Dr.) Busari Isiaka Toyin expressed their delight in receiving the new Permanent Secretary and assured her of the Management's unreserved cooperation and support in moving the Ministry forward.
In a related development, the State Commissioner for Agriculture and Rural Development, Mrs. Oloruntoyosi Thomas has described the immediate past Permanent Secretary, TPL, Ishiaq Yinka Oloruko-oba as a reliable ally whose short stay has brought a lot of innovations and development to the Ministry.
Mrs. Oloruntoyosi stated this during a valedictory session organized to honour the outgoing Permanent Secretary for his contributions to the growth of the Ministry.
She further prayed for divine wisdom and God's guidance for the out- going Permanent Secretary in his future endeavors.
Highlight of the valedictory session was the presentation of gifts to the outgoing Permanent Secretary.
The brief meeting had in attendance, all the Directors, Deputy Directors as well as Heads of Agencies under the Ministry in the State.
