Kwara Farmers Thumbs up Governor AbdulRazaq's Agric Empowerment Programme.
The Kwara State Government has again received commendations for its agricultural inputs and irrigation equipment empowerment programme.
The Programme which empowered over 4,000 local farmers across the 16 Local Government Area of the State with free distribution of agricultural inputs, chemical, fertilizer as well as irrigation equipment to enhance farmers' output and boosting food production in the State.
The farmers expressed their appreciation during an inspection tour to some of the beneficiaries farm Site in both Edu and Patigi Local Government of the State.
While speaking on behalf of the farmers, Mallam Adama Muhammad Sakpefu from Lade Ward lll, appreciated the present administration for the gesture adding that the empowerment has greatly improved their efficiency at work and is yielding good results.
Mall. Muhammad also used the opportunity to plead for the sustainability of the Programme in view of its benefits to the farmers and the food security of the State and the Country at large.
The State Commissioner for Agriculture and Rural Development, Mallam Gidado AbdulLateef Alakawa commended the farmers for ensuring adequate utilisation of the items especially, the irrigation equipment which according to him will greatly help the state government to achieve its objectives on all-year-round-farming programme.
He assured the farmers that they have a listened Governor that will address the challenges they are facing in the State.
